The Pet Food Run, 18th January.
Due to other commitments I wasn't able to get to the start of this run so Jamie is filling in the early blanks for me.
Nice and (far too) early I staggered out to the front door to find that January had decided to unleash her worst and it was hammering it down. Oh well this is for the dogs and cats so on with the wet weather gear and off I went. On arriving at the Downs there were already a fair few there including Lena and Max. We headed for the nice little cafe just up the road for a warming cup of coffee. Trouble is everyone else had had the same thought, the place was heaving. Still coffee obtained, job done, we were of. The 1st leg was the short hop across town to the Bristol Dogs home. Half the donations of pet food were unloaded while we all grabbed another coffee and checked out the animals. Why in heavens name so many people get a dog/cat and then dump them here I just don't understand. At this point our numbers grew to 4 so over to you Darren.
It was a bit of a late start for me, meeting up with 49 other bikers at Bristol dogs home. I also met up with Jamie, Lena and Max as they began riding up towards Bath dogs home. On the way to Bath Max's bike was feeling sympathy for the dogs, it had a floppy ear so we stopped for a while to put his indicator back in place. We then carried on to the dogs home were we had a good look around at all their dogs and cats, (don't forget the Mice and Rats, Jamie) it was a good day meeting up with everybody.
Darren.
