Branch committee
The Branch Committee has the following Roles and Responsibilities:
CHAIRMAN: (Jan) Provides leadership and direction. Oversees the Branch Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Branch committee meetings to ensure that they are carried out in an orderly fashion and that the meetings abide by the rules. Holds the casting vote should one be needed. Acts as a signatory for the Branch accounts.
VICE CHAIRMAN: (Malcolm) Supports the Chairman in his role as leader of the club.
SECRETARY: (Mark) Maintains accurate membership records, processes incoming membership renewals, sending them to the national Membership Secretary. Distributes new membership cards and TOMCC badges. Organises all Branch meetings, including production and distribution of meeting agendas and minutes. Deals with general correspondence. Liases with other branches and clubs. Acts as a signatory for the Branch accounts.
TREASURER: (Darren) Maintains accurate Branch financial records and ensures that all credits and invoices etc are dealt with promptly, especially monies due to TOMCC nationally. Holds the Branch’s cash. Reports the Branch finances to all Branch meetings, and in particular produces an annual account and report for presentation to the Branch AGM. Acts as a signatory for the Branch accounts.
SCRIBE: (Pete) Every month creates informative, interesting and entertaining Branch reports from scant information. Uploading them to the branch facebook page
SOCIAL SECRETARY: Organises social events for the members to participate in, thus helping to ensure a full Branch Calendar.
RUNS CAPTAIN: (Pete) Arranges and leads the Branch’s road runs. The primary objective is safety, while providing an interesting variety of routes and destinations to suit the range of bikes ridden by Branch members.
CHARITY SECRETARY: (Deni) Organises events to raise money for the Branch’s chosen Charity(s).
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER: Works to increase public awareness of our activities in order to improve the public’s perception of Bristol Branch in particular and TOMCC and motorcycling in general.
Communications Officer: (Jan) Every month brings together reports from the Scribe and any others that have appeared on Social Media and creates one piece to submit to the Editor of “Nacelle” magazine to meet monthly copy deadlines.
Notes: The responsibilities described above are not set in stone – everyone helps everyone else. The Committee also organises the annual Concorde Rally, runs the Branch’s web site, organises stands at shows, and attends the Club’s General Council meetings.
The whole Branch Committee retires annually at the AGM. If you want to join the committee you will be very, very welcome – it doesn’t matter whether you are a Full or an Associate member - the only restriction is that you should have been a Branch member for at least a year. You will get lots of help and support from the retiring committee. Please remember that you will have to give up some of your time (roughly 2 evenings a month) - the membership expects something for their annual fee! Please read the Club rules.
