Bristol Bike Show. 27th-February.
We gathered at Warmley Cark Park. 5 bikes, 7 people, the sun's out there's a chill in the air, it can be felt on the legs ,even for those of us wimps surrounded by plastic. aka me.
We leave at just after 9, Mark leading, going down the ring road through Keynsham, out on the Wellsway, we follow that out till we meet the A37, following that till we hit the A37/ A39 split, turning left we follow the A37, towards Yeovil. We follow that till we arrive at Thorners farm shop/cafe. Fed and watered by misses happy, the cook. It was obviously getting to much for her running a cafe with people turning up unannounced and expecting to be fed. But! The food was good. After I visited the farm shop for pie, Mikes was confused over where he left his bike keys, well done Shirley/Darren for great team work in finding them, Then there was Mark's debate on which is healthier, pasties or pies, I don't think we got the answer. We depart turning on to the A37 again, we carry on till we hit the B5153 at Lydford on Fosse, turning left on to it, following it all the way till Castle Cary, turning left on to A371 following that till we reach Bath & West showground. Mark turned in, Mike following towards the entrance, when the car waiting to pull out of the show, shot across in front of Mike, hitting the car coming down the road in the opposite direction, and almost taking Mike out in the process, as his car shot at Mike, in the reflection off the other one, the guy didn't bother to check the opposite lane was free, then tried to blamed Mike for speeding. How we all chuckled including the gathering of other bikers that were behind us, that were all turning into the show. Mike exchanged details with the drivers, as a witness. That done, its now show time. Hours later, lots of walking, chatting, buying tools looking at bikes, I get to show the fashion gurus how to make bike gear stylish with the new hat style. At this point I find out Paul and Joanna had already left and found their own way home. We meet Alex and Jeanette as we are walking around, we continue to wander around catching up, we bump into my neighbours, Chaz and Cydney who will be joining us at some point on a run, then after collecting our items we brought from the store as they stored them for us we made our move home,
Leaving Alex and Jeanette to their shopping, we're off. Turning left again on to A371, on to A37 and a repeat of the journey down but in reverse other than briefly stopping to free up my back brake as it decided to stick on, it was a uneventful trip home, we separated at Keynsham.
Another excellent day out
And the pie was excellent way to finish the day.
