The Condorde Rally. 21st to 23rd of September.
The 2018 Concorde Rally started with the sun shining, but not for long, after setting up all the kit for checking people in it started to rain. And rain. And rain. I don't think it stopped for more than a few minutes at a time. We had people coming from all over the country, so there were lots of new faces, including 17 from Glasgow, it took them 3 days to get to Chippenham, well done lads and lasses. Friday night started off with a DJ and he went down very well with every one. Brilliant. Then it was time to head to our tents with Mr rain. (I don't think many of us got that much sleep though, Jamie). Saturday started off with more hard rain so we cancelled the ride out. I don't think people minded, even the weather man said it was going to be to moist all weekend in the area. Evening entertainment was the band Black Rose who we had last year, up stairs was filling up fast and then the jocks came, seventeen of them all ready for war, dressed in the full kit, kilts, faces painted as William Wallace to take over the dance floor. Bex did a great job all night going round selling raffle tickets and getting over three hundred pounds. Trophies were handed out for the best bikes, furthest distances covered and the highest turn out. This went to the Scottish contingent, (or was it for their dance moves we will never know)! Black Rose went down well and what a great night it was, and good weekend, many thanks to the members who helped out on the weekend. See you all next year.
Darren.
(I would like to point out that Darren won the Clubman of the year trophy, I knew he wouldn't mention it. Jamie.
A little addition.
On Sunday on the way home, shattered and looking forward to crashing out a friggin drill bit managed to attack me and within a minute of hearing a loud "pop" sound the rear tyre was flat. The AA rescued me (a VERY good service) and a couple of days later EMJ Bike tyres fitted a new rubber for me (More superb service) . Another rally over and if I rest for the next 11 months I may just about be ready for next year. Ah what the hell, I can't wait. Jamie.
