Charity events.
In 1998/99, we were working for Cerebral Palsy, and in particular to help Thomas Ainsworth who has this condition.
On Sunday 5th July 1998, we went on a Charity Run to Sammy Miller's Museum, Hampshire, and £5 was donated by Branch members and friends for each bike on the run. The turnout was excellent - a big Thank You to all who attended. A really big thank you must also go to Chris and to Sue who put in an extraordinary amount of work to make sure that the day went smoothly and achieved the success that it did. We raised £370 for Thomas and for Scope (for people with cerebral palsy) through the museum run, and a barbeque, and a raffle at our Christmas Party.
In 1999/2000, the Bristol Branch's chosen charity was Headway. We raised the sum of £500 through a number of events, and we presented a cheque to Headway in Bristol (at Frenchay Hospital) on Thursday 10th February 2000.
