5 bikes go to Swanage 1st-Sept-2019.
We meet at Warmley car park for 10:30, 7 people, 4 Triumphs, (Mike, Rich, Max and Larry), a BMW(, Mark & Shirley) and a Kawasaki (myself). Six of us in total leave the car park at 10.50 down the A4174 to Keynsham, across Keynsham bypass, through Saltford, dropped into Bath where we joined the A36, followed that to Warminster where we stopped for the first breather and a cuppa, sadly at this point we lost a rider due to him returning home. (Larry)
40 mins later Coffee and food done, five continue to Swanage, we are on the move again, traffic is slow in places, the A36 to the A350 to Blandford Forum, at one point we were brought to a stand still due to a deer in the middle of the road standing proud, before jumping into the hedge and disappearing, Shortly afterwards we turn towards Wareham following it down through Corfe, arriving at Swanage at 2pm, parking the bikes up, on the sea front.
Sun is out, it would be rude not to sit out and have fish and chips and a cuppa and a stroll along the sea front, 1hr 40 later and lots of chatting done, we get ready to leave.
The route home was virtually the same as the journey down, in reverse, only difference it was a lot quicker and faster moving, 1hr, 10min after leaving we stopped at Ivy Cross to fill up and have a coffee break & a sit in the sun, 45 min later we set off again. 1hr 4mins later, I'm the first to leave the pack as we ride past keynsham, and that ends an excellent day of riding, sun and company.
