The Pet Food Run. 19th of January.
We all met up at the Colosseum in Bristol ready for the 11am off; There was quite a collection of bikes for a Sunday morning in January. As we headed for Bath everything was going well until we started the climb up Pennyquick when my bike decided it was not going to play anymore, so I abandoned it and hopped on the back of Max’s. This was ok until we reached Coombe Down when his died as well. After a quick phone call help arrived and I arrived at the Bath Cat and Dogs Home to inform Jamie that Max and I would not complete the ride. When he stopped laughing he said he wanted me to write a FULL report. So after tea and cake the remaining bikes continued the ride to Bristol. Mean while Max had got his bike started and limped it home. After quick check of mine I found the points plate had come loose again so after resetting the points I rode it home ok. I will now pass on to Jamie for the final piece of the tale. Lena.
“I suppose I deserve this. After laughing at Lena and Max’s misfortune it had to happen. Yes. I broke down on the way back to Bristol. I was having a good blast along the bypass, at legal speeds of course when it died. just great having to watch everyone else shoot by while I stood there looking stupid. Marcus pulled up to see if I was ok and we decided it was time to call the AA man. (I have him on speed dial now). Soon another call was required to cancel them as a white van stopped to help. My thanks go to Darren who helped Marcus and I lump the bike into his van and gave me an embarrassing ride home.
Not a good look for a Triumph. Emerging out of the back of a Transit.”
