Weighbridge Inn. 2 pies and 2 reports. 30th-January.
A club ride out today to The Weighbridge inn In Nailsworth who are famous for their delicious 2 in 1 pies. 9 bikes in lovely sunny weather. It was also to say goodbye to Raymond Chappell who is leaving us to continue his solo round the world journey on his yacht. We wish him a safe journey and a safe return. Also well done to some brave branch members who actually managed the main pie and a desert including the 2 in 1 fruit crumble, you know who you are.
Mark.

Sun's out but there's still a chill in the air,We meet at the cross hands on the A46, we depart with Mark taking the lead followed by Shirley, Mike, Ray, Martin, Mand, Jan, Andy, Malcolm, Darren, and myself. After battling across the junction, we get out onto the A46 and regroup, we head up the A46, Not the longest of rides up to Nailsworth before we turn right onto B4014 heading towards the Weighbridge Inn, avoiding the grit on the corners. On getting there we find Bex and Anthony waiting for us.
Approx 40 mins ride 24 miles.
It was Ray's last ride with us before returning to his sailing trip round the world, he has been great company and has been out on a lot of the rides, so he will be missed. I will miss the boat chats, being like minded. The group wished him farewell by presenting him with Triumph group hoody and treating him to his meal.
After stuffing ourselves stupid with pie and puddings, we drag our bellies back to the bikes. At this point Bex, Anthony, Jan and Andy go there own way home. Now this is where I fail as a scribe as I normally have my satnav on the bike which tells me every road we take, but this time I haven't, so alternative means have been used to work out route and it's not so accurate. The rest of us want more biking, So, with Mark in the lead we head back the way we came, up the B4014 towards Nailsworth, turning right on to the A46 towards Stroud before turning onto A419 towards thrupp, we following that past Coltswold Glider Club and shortly after we turn right cutting across towards Kemble. We head back down the A429, till we turn right onto the B4014 again, but lower down. We head towards Tetbury, jumping on to the A433 back towards the A46 dropping back down to the Cross Hands where Mark, Shirley, Martin and Mand go on their way home
Mike, Darren, Ray and myself carry on along the A46 till we hit the M4 junction where Ray goes his separate wa.y, the rest of us head down to Bridge Yate where we all go our separate ways and that ends another trip out.
38miles and just over an hour of time
