Yate shops fundraising day, 8th of June.
Our chosen charity this year is the "Make a wish foundation" who help terminally ill children to fulfil some of their greatest wishes. One way we raise some
money is to spend the day collecting at Yate shopping centre. At the ungodly hour of 8:30 in the morning Ant, Darren, Max, Mike, Neal, Paul, Paul and myself met up in the car park. Once the bikes had been pushed, yes due to elfansafty we had to push them and yes they are piggin heavy we then set up the gazebo to give ussome cover from the sun, put the kettle on and waited for the crowds. And did they ever come? Our position opposite the kids sand pit meant a steady stream of excited children that were begging their parents to put a donation in the bucket so they could get their picture taken on one (or more often many) of the bikes.Later on Deni, Paula and Gary turned up to lend a hand and joined in with the inevitable conversation that always seems to happen. IE nothing whatsoever of importance. Strange thing is we never seem to run out of this rubbish and once again a great day was had by all of us.
At the end of the day were were very pleased to have raised (total to follow asap) Great effort everyone.
